Barbara I Gongini

EXHIBITION. Fashion is so much more than just the plainness of cloth sewn together in a form-fitting way where adherence to the rules of garment making and general usability are prioritized over uniqueness of design and the playfulness of its allure. With the Modular Objects project Barbara I Gongini embarks on an in-depth exploration of form from an avantgarde perspective and strives to manifest an artistic take of the subject. This project focuses on the strict attachment to the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and seeks to practice multifunctionality of garment through a variety of methodological processes. Modular Objects challenge the perception of a piece of attire to create a unique and functional object that adds dimension versatility to what’s generally accepted as wearable. With its distinctive visual output, it opens up the senses with its stimulating appearance.

The playfulness of the pieces lives out through the ability to alter as one’s pleased changing and inspiring the perception of conventional objects in fashion. The project encourages to build and strengthen individuality by challenging and pushing the boundaries set by typical seasonal trends.

Modular Objects live installation can be seen during Copenhagen Fashion Week as part of the FAN OUT X KBH, August 7th– 10th in Slagtehusgade 11, 1715 Copenhagen V
